My Style Icon: Giovanna Battaglia

gio2

Hello hello! Today I want to share with you my new found fashion icon(not so new actually). Giovanna Battaglia is an Italian-born fashion editor at W magazine and Senior fashion editor at Vogue Japan. She began her career in fashion as a model for Dolce and Gabanna.

Before I started studying fashion, Victoria Beckham was my ultimate style icon, I mean, I was in awe of her, however, studying fashion opened my eyes to see fashion in a very different way(a not-so-obvious way I suppose). I started to see it as an art, playing with different and what many would call awkward shapes, patterns and silhouettes. In an ideal world, what many would call ‘runway fashion’ is what I would like to wear on a daily basis especially in terms of minimalism. Bat Gio, as she is popularly called is my ideal chic right now, like she is BAE especially with that killer figure! She balances minimalism with prints but still manages to look feminine, youthful, classy and full of energy at the same time. Bat Gio spits High Fashion! I could go on about her but I’d let you see for yourself. Enjoy

Alex
