It feels like just yesterday that I started to write my post about spending Easter in Dubai when I got distracted and life basically happened, as usual. Fast forward to 3 months later, I still haven’t written it lol but I’m going to share photos from my latest trip to Malta.
Malta is one country I’ve always wanted to visit and Feyi and I decided to finally do it! We were looking for a quick and affordable Europe trip + somewhere either of us hadn’t been and Malta seemed to tick all the boxes. It was one of those super impromptu trips where we just wanted to go to the beach and have lots of ice cream and downtime. We went in mid June and it was absolutely roasting – 29-33 degrees so ice cream was a necessity.
Thinking of visiting Malta? Keep reading to see what we got up to!
On our first day, we went to the capital city- Valetta. We spent hours walking around the cobbled streets and just soaking in the views. We also had the most delicious meal – seafood pasta and a club sandwich.. honestly the best meal we had all through the trip! Afterwards, we met up with a friend in St. Julians bay (which is probably where all the action happens in Malta. If you’re wanting to go out-out, you should check it out) and called it a night.
Day 2 was beach day! There are tons of beaches in Malta but we went to Mellieha Beach. We started off with yummy hotdogs and ice cold drinks before heading into the water for a dip. We literally just spent the day relaxing on the beach and had dinner later around the hotel.
Day 3 was spent at Popeye Village. Yep! Actual Popeye.. This was the set for the 1980 Disney Popeye movie and has since become a tourist attraction. It is literally about 10 mins from Mellieha beach so its quite convenient to do both on the same day if you are tight for time. Most times, it shuts at 5pm so I’d advise going earlier on in the day. The village features its own ‘beach’ with water sports, day beds and the most beautiful views.
I’d say the only places we didn’t really get to explore in Malta were Gozo and Comino as the kids in us chose Popeye village twice instead haha. Dubai post coming right up..
